Pity Party

You're invited to my pity party! Jon is off playing in a sand box for a year (gotta be kind of vague) and I haven't cried yet. Until yesterday. When I sewed through my finger. That hurt unleashed other hurts and it just wasn't a good day! The girls are driving me crazy, I have things I have to deal with that I don't want to deal with (setting up the satellite dish is something a guy should do) and just other random crap. I know I'm one of thousands who are going through this type thing but I just want to throw myself a pity party and act like I'm this is only happening to me:) I did talk to my BFF in California for 4 hours. That's right 4!! And I felt so much better:)
*
FYI, that needle went pretty deep and I had to manually crank the wheel to get it out. I screamed the loudest, longest, creepiest scream I think I've ever heard. I have read in books people saying things like, "I heard a scream and then realized it was me". I always thought WTF? How do you not know you're screaming? Well now I know. And I have some advice: never (or just be cautious when doing this) yell at your child while sewing. Or don't turn your head to make eye contact with the child you're yelling at while sewing.

Easter morning. The Easter Bunny left their baskets at the back door. We woke Emily up and  told her to check if the Easter bunny left baskets. She checked the front door and was confused when there was nothing there! We told her to check the other door. It was so cute seeing them oh and ah over what was left for them.
The girls received super large dragons and dinosaurs and fairy wings. Ava got a Shaun the Sheep cup and bowl set while Emily received two used DVD"s. Shhh don't tell her they are used. I'm so glad she's oblivious to that kind of thing. Or maybe she knows and is thinking I'm a cheap mo fo but is to kind to say anything. This is only the 2nd time I've put Emily in a dress for Easter and I'm not even sure Ava's ever worn a dress!
Just wanted to show what spring looks like at our house. And this picture wasn't even the worst day! Emily puffy-eyed, scabby and snotty. Oh and wheezy. And coughing fits till she throws up.

Oh, Jennifer! That looks like it HURT! I would have screamed and cried too, even without my hubby being deployed. Everyone has crap days, and it's even worse that you have to weather it on your own. It's good that you talked to your BFF, that's what they're for.

The girls are adorable in their Easter dresses, it looks like they had fun!

YE-OUCH! That's one of deepest fears. I feel for you and thank goodness you have a great friend that's there for you. It's okay to scream and cry... perfectly fine! You need to do that.

TAKE CARE!

Ooh I'm soo sorry! What a sh*^%y situation! But on the plus side, i bet once you've put a needle through your finger, everything else doesn't seem so scary anymore! :)

The girls are adorable as always and may I just request more dresses on Ava?!

OK, first let me say that I have it on good authority that your BFF in California did not mind AT ALL talking to you four hours. In fact, I know for a fact that she didn't even realize it had been four hours until you realized it. You know that you can call and we can talk as long as you need or want because I love you very much and talking to you always makes me laugh. LY...JennyBean

Oh ugh! That's one heck of a list of reasons to throw a pity party. Hopefully it will get a little more manageable. Hang in there! The girls were cute at Easter! Love their baskets!

You have a right to have a pity party, lots going on. It hurts to even 'look' at your finger, it must have been soooooo painful. On a positive note, you have darling baby girls, love the pictures. (sorry, I had to delete my first comment, had too many errors).

Holy sh**, Jenny, that looks so painful! Steve even had a hard time looking at it. I agree with everyone else - you have a right to throw a pity party - it's just a pity I couldn't be there with you (yes, I'm cracking myself up!).

Spring in your house looks like spring in my house, too!

The easter dresses are so cute, and the girls look adorable as usual!

I love you lots, and I'm there alongside you in spirit at your pity party!

I vomited a little over your finger. That is SO painful! But I'm glad you could use it to vent other frustrations... FYI I usually just pick up a Nicholas Sparks book... less painful...
That stinks about Jon. I hate having to put things up that I just want to assign to matt... I can go over and help people do all sorts of things and when it's at home I am all that's so matt's job!
The girls look gorgeous and who knew Ava could get cuter? Love her in a dress!
Also where did you find Ava's zip up sleeper in the larger size? It's really cute and I seem to only find ugly ones for larger sizes... : P

Major owowowow--OUCH on the finger! I've never done that (knocking on my desk over here, hopefully there's wood in there somewhere...) but I have always been afraid of doing it!

Your right to have a pity party is firmly established, and I would too! Hang in there girl, it does get easier as they get older...well, easier might not be totally accurate, but the ups and downs are fewer and farther between...though sometimes they're a bit more extreme...

Keep 'em in dresses as long as you can, I say. I have one who wouldn't wear them until she wanted to wear dresses with too little fabric in them, and the other probably won't ever even do THAT. We have a family wedding coming up next year (not my daughter), and they're both going to squawk--for different reasons--over the required attire, I can see it coming!
