Anniversary

Our invites. Married 6 years now I think. Or is it 7?

Misc. wedding photos. That's my dad who married us, the witch is my beautiful sister Julia, and our good friend Devin as Whimpy. He made the invitations and the cake (and he's not gay!). (Devin passed way about 3 years ago:( ) And my uncle walking me down the "aisle".

1st Snow!!!

View from the living room. This is why I love Germany. You'd never see this outside your window in San Diego! Well maybe the barbed wire but not the snow:)
View from the bedroom. Since we've been here it has not rained or snowed on Halloween. So this should be interesting...

I'm done with my dress! I'm almost done with Jon's pants (breeches) and then we'll be ready for Halloween.

Par-tay and food

Today was the Halloween Party at Mom & Tots. When I started thinking about Halloween costumes for the girls, Ava was going to be a Gnome. then Princess Leia. then a Gnome, now she is a skeleton (kitty skeleton) and that's final!

Emily is drawing stick people and doing a good job! This is Daddy.

The best banana bread. Made with yogurt (calls for plain but vanilla works just the same). Margaret, do you remember this bread from the other store? We sat and ate all of it? I can't remember the employees name that made it. I just ate half of this loaf and I think I'm going to puke.

I am sewing! But I can't show it yet. Corinnea came over today and helped with my costume. I needed advice on where to place some trim. It's almost done!

silhouette love

Say hello to Percy and Cecil, my new friends. They're not here yet (I just ordered them today from etsy) but I'm already in love. I've put a self ban on Etsy and a number of other online sites. I obviously did this after I got these two cuties. I did use my consignment money to buy them so really it's ok..

Exactly what I wanted

Kelly made me this beautiful plate. Can you guess who the girls are? I LOVE silhouettes. LOVE them. She drew it on the plate, painted it and glazed it. It's just perfect and I'm I can't stop staring at it!

Emily & Ethan (and Ava)

Princess Leia and Anakin **(I just redid a few of these and reposted them photo shopped)

I think Ethan looks like he's in front of a fake background in the above picture!

The costume was actually meant for Ava but it fits Emily

(it's labeled size: infant!) photos taken by Kelly and a few by me (there was 200 total). Corinnea also took photos on another camera!

Family

Eric, Mary and Nicolas.

Beautiful family. Bright yucky sun.

I am in love with Nicolas! I've already decided to make an alliance with his family by marrying Emily to him when she's 14.

Birds, Bags, Softies

look what Mary made me!! I cut the glass and ground it (grinded it? The sides) but she did the rest . I was supposed to be learning it but you know how Mary is...so assertive. she just pushed me out of the way and said "I'll do it" in a disgusted voice! The glass flower is from Corinnea:)
His name is Chirp from Peep, Chirp, Quack.
My "girlfriend in a coma" got me this wonderful Softies kit from my Amazon wish list for my b-day. It has some really cute projects.
And this is what I did at QTYW last Friday. I started the two Sophia Carry-alls for Ava and Emily. I have never ever had this many projects going at one time! My costume, part of Jon's costume, these bags, something for Kelly, a Swing set tunic, a Mini-I'm sure I'm missing something. Waiting to be started are: a mini for Margaret, a Swing set top for Keara, two purses for Michelle's daughters, more bibs, aprons and diaper wipe thingies and the list goes on.

Toys

There is a really cool shop in Prague that had all natural products and the upstairs was all wooden toys like this hanging/flying dragon. Emily LOVES dragons and Dinosaurs so I had to get this for her. It's over her bed so she can lay there, pull the string and make it fly. She loves it!!

Margaret sent this really cool duck bath tub for Ava but of course Emily has claimed it for her own. Last night Jon put her in it and then a little while later I brought Ava in. Emily asked if I was going to give Ava a bath and when I said yes, she said OK but not in the ducky, put her over there. So Ava bit her fingers.

Prague

So we were supposed to go to Euro Disney this weekend with the USO but it was cancelled probably due to not enough people. So instead we went to Prague (with the USO). It was an express trip which is travel at night, tour Prague for one day. No hotels. We wanted to go to Euro Disney because our 7 year anniversary is coming up and we went to Disneyland for our honeymoon (California Disneyland). Kelly took the girls for us. She volunteered to take our girls overnight! Both of them! Overnight! Crazy! I'm waiting for her call to pick them up and I can't wait to hear if they were good or if she still has hair left:) I can't even express how much this meant to us. This is really a big deal that she did this. I will owe her big time for ever!
It was MOTHER CHUCKN' crowded. Yucky crowded as you can see from this picture (the above photo). This is a crosswalk and ahead of us is the Charles-something bridge. I told Jon to get a photo of the sea of people but you can't see it that well in this photo.
This statue is a pile of baby heads. too funny..and weird.

I messed with the photos just to see what some of my actions would do to them. Kind of went a little crazy.

We also visited the "bone church". It was not as creepy as one would think. In fact the videos and pictures I had seen before we went were much cooler than the actual place! We were still very happy to see it though.
This is the Prague Astronomical Clock in the old town square. I didn't photo shop this photo (FYI):)

Almost almost!

Introducing...the Sophia Bag! Almost finished. I haven't done the lining. I'll get that from the store tomorrow. I'm waiting for the sleeve trim to come in for my costume so I put it aside and started this project again. This fabric is my test fabric. I needed to see if I liked the bag and was OK with sewing it before I used my Japanese fabric.I almost got the pattern to match on the top!
It's a little puffy where the piping is. I think the fabric/seams need to "calm down" a little and settle. Maybe more ironing..
I figured out how to get a double zipper without buying one. I used the heavy duty make-a-zipper stuff we have and put two zipper pulls on it. I used timtex for the sides and bottom (it only calls for the bottom to have timtex) after reading several reviews and seeing other's on FLICKR. They looked droopy and lumpy. I also didn't put piping around the bottom because of reviews. I think it's fine so far without.
