I made this bag for the mom of the kids I made the two circle cases for in the previous post.

We became good friends when I moved back home to San Diego. Her kids went to the same school as mine and it turns out we went to the same high school just different years and we even lived down the street from each other then. Moving so much makes it so I meet some really awesome people but it also means I move after meeting them. The last three places we were stationed were 1.5 years each. (insert sad face emogi)

I thought this pattern was good but it was better when I did the sew along. Now when I make this I just pull up the sew along and make it.

Animal Toiletry Bag

My German BF is moving to Colorado soon so I made her a going away gift. This toiletry bag has been made so many times I forget to read the instructions. I should have read them because I forgot (again) to insert the Peltex. It was way to floppy so I cut slits in the lining and inserted the Peltex and now it's lovely.

I think I mentioned before when I made Connie a bib for her baby out of this same fabric that she has a thing for animal prints. She probably loves them as much as I love mushrooms.

Pattern is from Jessica bought here and fabric is from someone on etsy (waterproof lining too).

Thank you for all your kind comments about Jon's mom. I have passed these on to him. The memorial was actually fun considering. We got a bouncy house for the girls (and a couple of other children that came) and the weather was perfect. Jon's sister got a Taco bar (this company sets up a grill and grills the meats and even makes the tortillas from scratch). The only down part was the speeches. We were all in tears. But I really appreciated hearing what people had to say because even though I have known his mom for 20 years now, you forget what this person is like when they get sick and become someone else. She was basically a bed-ridden Alzheimer's patient for most of the past year and at the end never left her bed and could barely speak coherently. That's not the Mickie I knew. The Mickie I knew loved gardening, the Zoo and the History channel. She couldn't appreciate any of these things pretty much as soon as she was diagnosed. She worked at a circuit board company for 30 years and loved her boss and coworkers (same place Jon worked for 9 years prior to the Army). She will be missed.

a mini toiletry bag or box bag. It's perfect for binky's or ..... stuff. Emily is officially off the binky!! Four and half years old and finally done. She was only using it at night for a long time but recently we just told her we couldn't find it when she asked for it. It worked! Let's just hope she doesn't find a stray one someday. Me and my sister used to scoff at older kids with binky's before I had kids. Karma is all I have to say about that. It is totally inevitable that if I say something negative it will come back to me. It's almost comical how often this happens but its not! While some people never seem to be troubled with Karma...

mini quilt

A mini band-aid quilt. I could not get a decent photo of this. It's not as cute as I had envisioned but it'll do (donkey). Fabric is Cloud 9 Organic and some other's thrown in.

I bought a nose douche today (nasendusche) from a German Apotheke. That's a neti pot to those who can't sprechen. I have been suffering from sinus pains for a couple of days now. Hurts so bad I want to shake a kitten! I'm going to irrigate my nose tomorrow. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I'm sure everyone is going to be waiting by their computers.

Yes, another one. And actually I have more partially done. I love this pattern and I think they make the best gifts. I wonder what my giveaway will be at the end of February for my blogiversary??

This particular cutie is for Mary A. She received it today so I can now show it. She said it'll be perfect for her makeup.

None of these have the Timtex in them like the pattern calls for. I forgot to insert it at the appropriate time. But the new ones I made have it in them. I wish I had done that with the others. The Timtex helps it keep the box shape.

Our new Knitting/Crochet display. My Auntie Karen's niece Tina made me the Pirate Panda and the kitty for Christmas and Corinnea made the Elephant.

They are hanging in the store because I recently stumbled across the book that they are all made from. What better way to inspire than to have the actual item made up and on display? I never ever thought I'd work retail again after working for Yardage City of San Diego for 9 years but I love my job! I love the creative freedom I have. What will I do if we move in October??? Let's not talk about it:) FYI: my 6 year anniversay at the store is next month...crazy!

It's been snowing a lot here. I think we've have snow on the ground for a month now.

Winter in Germany (actually, anytime of year) is just gorgeous. The snow is what I'm talking about though. It's the snow that makes it like a winter wonderland and these photos do not do it justice!

I finished The Host on Audio book and it was just as good as when I read it. I'm now listening to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. I may have mentioned before that I will ONLY listen to a book I have read. I cannot stand the thought of missing something because I had to run out of the room or someone talked to me while listening to the book. Is anyone else like this?

The pattern is from Jessica's shop just like this one I made for Mary H.

The fabric is Japanese coated cotton and the same fabric as Ava's art smock shown a few posts back but in black.

Mary H. gave me these two Gnome/mushroom ornaments. Her mom was getting rid of them so Mary told her she knew of someone who would love them (and hold them and call them George). She was right! I'm in loooooove! I'm showing them now because I got them after Christmas and JUST took down our Christmas stuff. This is the longest I've ever left it up and I'm OK with that!

Kara: that Dr. Finkelstein in the back is for you:) Not literally but I made sure he was in the back ground for you!

I just finished Lonely Werewolf Girl and loved it even though it was cheesy and actually had many many spelling errors/typos that even I caught!

I'm now reading the White Queen and really like it. I gladly except book recommendations. Except if they are: sci-fi (like Star-treck sci-fi) or cheesy, nasty romance or classics. Mama don't like the classics. Jack Kerouac is stupid.

I'm listening too The Host and I cannot recommend this book enough! I've read it many many months ago and have been listening to it for the past couple of weeks. I find myself wanting to get back to it and find out what happens next even though I already read it! It's just that good and so completely different than her other lesser known books (you may have heard of them? The Twilight series? I'm making myself laugh ...) Anyway, read it if you haven't already!
