5 Year Blog-a-thon!!

Last month was 5 years of blogging for me!
Can you believe it? As you may know, I use to live in Stuttgart and worked at the best fabric/craft store in the universe. I worked there for 7 years. And met some of my favorite people there. We all motivated each other and were each others cheerleaders. :) Craft blogs had become huge I think around 2007 (that's the year I say because it's when I discovered them). My 1st blog discoveries were The Black Apple and Wee Wonderfuls. I, like others sewers and crafters, were blown away with what we were seeing. So in 2008 we all decided to start blogs.

*I guess I didn't lint roll as good as I thought I did.
To reward you for 5 years of reading my blog, I am giving away this stinkin' cute Skunk Hanging Bucket!!
It is about 7.5" (not including the handle) and about 5.5" wide. It can be hung on something: in the car for trash or maybe like I have it hanging on my desk, or just sit it on a table. It's made from cotton on the outside and a nylon-type fabric for the lining to make it a little easier to clean out. (You could tell it was a skunk, right?)
The photo below shows it hanging from my desk. I use it as a trash bag. I will be making a new one for the winner. :) It's already started, as you can see in the bottom photo, but I (and my whole family) have been super super sick, so I had to put it on hold.

There were several of us who started blogs around the same time but only a few of us survived.
They too are having a Blogiversay giveaway!
It's a
5 Year Blog-a-thon!!!

This is how it works:
1. For my giveaway (the Skunk bucket), leave a comment on this post. The comment must be about me! :) I AM kind of a big deal on my blog so make the comment about me! For instance...your favorite thing I've made, how you met me...anything! Except saying something mean of course because then I will cry and you definitely won't get picked to win!
2. I will ship international.
3. Leave your email address with your comment if I don't already have it! Written that super sneaky way people do it (for example: parrishplatz(at)hotmail(dot)com)

That's it, no following me or other nonsense to get more chances!
The giveaway will run from March 10th to March 16th (I will announce the winner on the 17th) The name will be chosen on one of those random number generator sites.
*
Now for my friends blog giveaways!!

Corinnea and Jessica: Created Blissfully

Go to each of their blogs and do what ever they tell you to enter their giveaways!!
*edited to add that while I love love love the wonderful things you all are saying in the comments, you CAN just tell me about how we met or what made you come to my blog or about something I've made. It doesn't have to be how fabulous I am! I'm afraid people won't comment feeling they have to complement my awesomeness:) But if you want to tell me I'm fabulous that's ok too...

My favorite memory with you is Halloween the year you were Marie Antoinette and you let me and Corinnea wear your other two costumes. We were like your ladies in waiting! I MISS YOU!!!!

CUTE bucket! I'm not sure I love your comment about 'no following my blog or any nonsense like that!' since that's what I wrote on mine. HAHA! But I suppose I can let it slide because I want a skunk friend in my life. Bad.

I love love love how much you love Scotland and the UK and the royals because I feel like you understand me! I also love pretty much everything you make but the one thing that comes to mind is a photo shoot you did with Ava wearing a pink tutu and holding (i think) a plastic rhino. Don't know why but I thought it was extra creative and beautiful. :)

Oh, that is ridiculous. As in, ridiculously cute. It would make a great trash bin, but what if it got dirty? Then I would be sad. No, I think it would be home to my girls' sunglasses, because it's a little dumb how many they have. They lose them, and I get more, and then we find all the old ones...

The thing I love best about you is that you're fun and funky. Like your love of Halloween, and the Nightmare Before Christmas. And especially that you've encouraged your girls to be fun and funky too! Parenting win. :)

Um you're kind of a big deal because you raise the cutest girls who are totally unique. My favorite memory was the first time I came to your house and saw your Nightmare stuff and the girls dinos and that your kitchen was as messy as mine and I thought "I want to be her friend!"

What do I want to say about you...Should I talk about your fat p... or all the delicious foods you've made me love, crunchy tortellini, peanut butter frosting, chocolate chip oreos, and that list goes on and on. No, its that you get me and how if it were not for my brother, we might be married right now and how i cant wait for you to come back to the states so i can make weekend trips to see you...and well the kids and my brother are a plus, but you are, my dear, the main attractions. I love you to piece and am so jealous i cannot be as crafty, and witty, and pretty as you! You're the best!

I just knew is was going to be the skunk bucket the minute you posted on Instagram. It wasn't very fair though cause you got a couple of our hopes up that you were giving away those girls....

Hmmmmm, something about you...... I think what I love most is that you are one of the most deeply feeling, tender people I know.

The second thing I like (we can say two things right?) is that you are the hippest person I know. Don't let this go to your head but, I want to be you.

I am not going to be as long winded as most. You are obviously very talented. I love this little skunk bucket, but I could see myself carrying this around town on my various errands! Your panda sleeves post is so cute. I have two boys, but I may be able to creat a panda pocket!

If you ever want to do a US giveaway feel free to email me!

OMG! Jessica's post made me cry. All I have to say about you Jenny is YSFT!!!! You got the crafty genes of the family, and I'm so jealous. Not to mention the cutest kids.

I would use the skunk in my classroom as a trashbin on my desk. So damn cute!

I love u!

I love that when you are sick you still take pictures of your daughter writing smutty comments to put on your front door. I love that because of you I participate in Halloween with my kids...never too old to dress up. I love that I was there for the birth of both your girls and held each one of their precious little selves when they were babies so watching them grow is an honor. I love that you use the C-word without reservation because I feel like sometimes it is the only word that will work. Is that enough? I love you. JennyBean

I remember find you several years back and your blog banner cracked me up. I also remember on one of your giveaways you asked the question wether we pee in the shower or not... HA! That's what I love about you! You're VERY creative and I always look forward to what you're going to make next.

Here's to five more years!!!!

You have always inspired me to do more than my usual crafts. Thanks for that! Keep up the great work on your blog.

I think we should abandon random.org and I should just pick my favorite comment to be the winner. It'd be tight though.... Corinnea's in the lead right now because I actually laughed out loud and spit on my screen a tiny bit. Jessica P. is definitely out because it sounds like she's trying to steal you, which I have dibs on, you know if JennyBean kicks the bucket first, of course. ;P

We met working together at the awesome craft shop! It is because of you that I sew, and to a lesser extent that I have kids, lol. You showed me that having kids wasn't that bad! Emily is the first baby I ever really wanted to hold. I miss you!

I came to your blog through a link to your panda bear sleeves (which are SO CUTE)! :) I think you have a great blog. My favorite projects of yours are your woodland animal buckets, the panda bear sleeves, and your Christmas tree quilt that has little elves hiding in it. :)

You are sooo awesome. I love your blog because you have the coolest house. Find the coolest things. Have the cutest kids. And the stuff you make is always so inspiring and (lol) usually way cooler then what inspired you to make the item in the first place.
Also your sense of humor that comes through so well in your posts. I am so glad that you take the time and effort to share it all with us on your blog!

so... i'm one that didn't survive, my blog took a nose dive after moving back state side. boo! My favorite thing you've made are your gingy ornaments... I should have gotten one when I had the chance. Other than that, I love the band aid quilt, and I LOVE love love my blue and red bag I won from another blog give away you had... typical, I use it in the bathroom, but it sparked my color scheme for the master bathroom in our new house! Maybe I'll be so lucky again =] I LOVE the stinkin cute basket and yes, I knew it was a skunk, but then again I am all woodland cratured out around here and it certainly would find a welcoming home with us!

Hen Jen. I remember first meeting you in the OLD Patch Movie theater in December 2003. Man, that was a long time ago. There was some silly 52nd function that John had brought you down for to show you to the platoon.

I met you a few days after you had Emily. My favorite thing made by you is definitely Emily and Ava (well Jon might have helped there a bit).
