I didn't make these Peep, Chirp, Quack dolls for Ava, Kelly did!!!
Ava had her 3rd birthday party this past weekend. We drove down to Stuttgart for the day and had her birthday party at the Store. I really wanted to show these dolls because Kelly adapted them from a tutorial for Angry Birds (angry birds are from a game).
Kelly had asked what she should get Ava and I told her I've always wanted to make a Quack (or one of the other characters) pillow. She told me she wouldn't have time so she'd look for something at the PX. Well.....she did have time!! How amazing are these??? If you don't know Peep and the Big Wide World, you should check it out. It is the cutest show and both girls LOVE it. Ava especially right now will ask for it in the middle of the night if she wakes up or 1st thing in the morning. I personally love to sing the theme song.
They have already been man-handled and loved to death since getting them on Saturday. Chirp (the red one) fell out of the car and into a puddle. Don't they look exactly like the characters?

The Sheep below is not handmade but I wanted to show it anyway because it's so darn cute!
It's Timmy from Shaun the Sheep (or Shaun das Schaf if you sprechen). Shaun the Sheep is Ava's other obsession right now and another show I highly recommend.
I'll have Ava's birthday party pictures up just as soon as someone (I'm not naming names, 'cause I'm not one to talk...) needs to send me the pictures. Kelly.

I can't believe Ava is 3!

Oh, Emily told me that Martin Luther King was killed by a "white doo doo". Huh? She is totally being serious and not saying doo doo isn't that funny I said doo doo. She thinks that's what the person who killed him is called. "The white doo doo didn't want a lot of changes. So he shot him and that's what happened". Does anyone know how she could have misunderstood the teacher??

Oh my gosh she did such a great job!! They really look just like the characters. I love Peep too :) We're also loving "Zaboomafoo" right now (admittedly, I love it mostly for the theme song as well, and find myself singing it at top volume throughout the day. That and my 2 yr old saying "Zaboo" is the darn cutest thing ever) It's on sometimes after Sesame street on AFN.
Those are so cute! How fun that they love them so much. Nice job Kelly!!
Emily's interpretation of MLK's death is pretty funny, because, well, I think the guy was a white doo doo. Did someone maybe say white dude??
"Oh I sprechen, I sprechen!" Too cute about the white doo doo...I have to say that I was going to ask if someone said "white dude" but I hope it wasn't the teacher :) Kelly, GREAT job on peep, chirp, and quack! LY Jen
OMG, those Peep dolls are AWESOME! Kelly, you did a great job! So, so cool. ^_^
And I definitely lol-ed at the white doo doo thing...I also thought white dude, but I really can't imagine a teacher saying that. I wonder what it was?
BTW--I also cannot believe she's THREE. Insane.
The party was so much fun. Peep Quack and Chirp were a big hit with all the children. Kelly did such a great job with those!
I got some more Shawn the sheep crackers for the next time I see Ava =) I say Ava only cause I figure Emily wont eat them =(
Emily is too smart! She's just advanced in her speech =)
She did such a good job! they turned out adorable. That's too funny about the white doo doo. But a good way to put it i guess...
I have pictures!!! I just didn't get on the computer over the weekend because I was obsessively sewing! Mary chastised me this morning actually....
My kids freaked out about the birds and I had to go home that night and make TWO angry birds before my angry children would leave me alone! And NOW ROB WANTS ONE TOO. And I have an "order" from Ethan for the tiny blue ones next. HAHAHA!. See how much I love you?
OMG. The white doo doo. too. funny.
Oh, ps. The tiny blue one splits into three when you tap the screen, so I actually have an "order" for THREE tiny blue ones. Just sayin. :)
those animals are so cool! I don't know the cartoon but I do know angry birds I hope kelly shows them to us!
Hmmm I would just have to ask the teacher what she really said... love the story!
Hahah! Doo doo. I would ask the teacher. Have you heard the one about the first grader doing math saying "1 plus 2, that son a b*tch is 3" And the teacher was actually saying "the sum of which" AHahhahahaha!
I'll have to look into the show, all Silas asks to watch is Elmo... boo!
ADORABLE!!!!!! Look at her sweet, happy smile!! Those are awesome! What a great gift!
Any chance she'd make more for sale? Would love to buy a set for my daughter! courteje@bc.edu Thanks.
