Home is...

I went to the bazaar here on Patch Friday with my friend Lisa for one reason only. The reason was to get this plaque! I had seen it in my friend Heidi's house and haaaad to have it.
Isn't it sooo cool? It looks like a German house (to me it does!)! I chose not to have the first "base sign" (the little ones hanging down saying where you have lived) say "home is where the Army sends us" and instead to just have all the places we have lived as a couple. Well, I didn't live with Jon in Korea so I guess that doesn't make sense. I just didn't want Army on it. And what if he goes contractor someday?

Here's the website that makes these. When we move to Schweinfurt I'll order another base sign.

You can have hearts for the birth of your babies placed on the city/state they were born in, rings or a church for when you were married and paw prints for when you acquire a new pet.

I had been hording a Williams-Sonoma gift certificate and finally used it last night. These two cake pans are what I ordered. The first is a giant donut cake! It's 8" wide and 2" high (each pan).

And then this giant Oreo cake pan. It's made with chocolate cake mix and whatever filling. I would do peanut butter frosting of course:) It's 9" wide by 2" high (each pan). I think I'll have Emily choose which one she wants for her birthday this summer.

The sign is cute. Good move to leave off the Army bit. I didn't think about that. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cake pans!!! HOW CUTE! Before I read what it was I was like, wow... that's a very pretty donut... And that might be the first oreo I would actually enjoy! OH! I just realized... it could be lemon cream... mmmmmmmm...... Haha! Those will be very fun for you!

The sign is great. It looks like a German house to me too!
Love the cake pans. Very awesome. Even though I love oreos... I think I love the donut pan more.

Those cake pans are awesome! I didn't even know they made such things. How do you get the cake to come cleanly out of the pans? mine always stick, even in boring normal pans.

Your sign turned out so good!

I love the cake pans - especially the Oreo one - I've never seen them before!

I love your book pillow too - very cool.

I have seen those house plaques before and I like them a lot. I really like the donut cake, but LVOE the idea of the chocolate cookie cake with the peanut butter frosting in the middle. makes my mouth water.

Hi, I just came across your blog via the flickr group for Oliver+S. I'm so jealous that you're living in Germany and moving to Schweinfurt soon. My husband and I were stationed there and had our daughter there. We really miss it and can't wait to get back there! Enjoy your time in Schweinfurt and I hope their craft shop lives up to the one I've seen on your blog!
