Elephants

Corinnea asked me to make a diaper/wipe holder out of this adorable elephant fabric we just got in for her daughter who is expecting.
I'm so proud of it becasue it's a one-way fabric. I always avoided this kind of fabric when making these but now since I altered the pattern it will be easy. Yay!

**that's Lauren from the frame shop in the above photos.
**
Below is a picture that Mary framed for me. It's a black apple print appropriately named Ava:) The print is about 8x10 but looks small in this picture. Thanks Subaru Ho!

And this fabric....swoon...I have to have this! It's Critter Camp by Michael Miller.

Did I mention I'm going home???? After 4.5 years??? Did I? Oh, I did..But did I tell you that only my parents have met Ava? When she was 2 weeks old? It's been 2.5 years since I've seen any family. I need to see family, friends, SHOP and EAT! I expect to gain weight. Especially from here (weird it's named that, huh?). And as of now I'm ok with that (I'll let you know how ok I am after I gain the weight) I love this place. I love chili cheese dogs. LOVE THEM! Especially Pretzel Bun Chili Cheese Dogs...salivate
****
And I expect to go broke at baby gap and target and Joann's and Michael's. So far I've only heard of one independent fabric store there. When I lived there I didn't quilt, I sewed so I never looked for that kind of fabric store. We have an Anthropologie in two of our malls and an H&M:) I want to get a pedicure for $10. I want to get Starbucks EVERYDAY from every corner in San Diego. I'm about to pee my pants with excitement!!! 2.5 more weeks!! I have to go change my pants:)

Cute bag! Cute fabric! I'm excited for you too. I gained weight. A lot... But I got a little bit of a tan too, so that's a good trade, right? When Rob went back to the States after being here for 3 years they had just come out with Wienerschnitzel and he was so excited b/c he thought it was German food! Haha! Quite the surprise when it was hot dogs! Have loads of fun!!

The elephant bag is sooo cute!
The frame looks great with the apple print photo - very cool!
And the critter camp...I can't stop looking at it, it's so neat! I'm wondering what you'll make with it once you get it! :)
Glad you're finally getting to visit home. We all need it after a while. Have a good time!

I love the black apple print her stuff is so gorgeous I just can't ever decide on which one is my favorite! Lovely frame job!
That is SO nice that you are getting to go home! I hope you don't have too much culture shock. I have to laugh at the wienerschnitzel. When Matt and I first started dating he tried to tell me he ate german food all the time and took me there... I about died.
P.S. I deleted mums comment above and reposted under me... I was signed in as her... oops!

The Der Wiener schnitzel comments are making me laugh! I grew up eating there too. My sister worked at Hamburger stand which then turned into Wienerschnitzel. anyone remember those? I always get the same thing and the same drink when I go. You can (or could) even buy the chili in supermarkets!
My old boss drove to northern California once and stopped with his family at a German Restaurant. They ordered schnitzel for their son. When it arrived as schnitzel and not a hot dog, they of course had an unhappy child and felt a little stupid:) . SO I think it's common to think that place is German food. Jess, your comment made me almost choke with laughter! That is just too funny:) Makes me think of my brother-in-law walking in to stores here in Germany and saying tschüss! as a greeting......he'll never live that down.

I LOVE that Ava print. I've had my eye on it for at least a year. I remember when the original went up for sale and I tried to buy it once it became available, but I was too slow. =(
