Woodland Fabric Buckets

Four fabric buckets in a woodland theme. The Owl and Fox are made from looking at this persons stuff on pinterest and then I got to thinking about what else I could make to go with them. I have the bunny (also inspired by that etsy seller and one from Oliver + S) in the works but I have big dreams of making the following (some woodland, some not):
Panda, skunk, raccoon, mushroom, monkey and a bird.
I did a mock-up of them in my Silhouette software and they are cuuute! I really enjoyed trying to make up minimalist-looking animals.

The frog is part linen and part Kona cotton and just might be my favorite.

The insides and back of the buckets with my labels.

And this is where they will live.
I had made a brown fox first but then remembered that foxes are more reddish and i wanted to make the stump that is also brown so I made another one.
Above is the Easter egg "hunt" from last weekend put on by Jon's Unit. Ava is trying to hold back her crying because a boy dropped an egg near her. She picked it up and put it in her basket but Jon made her give it back to him. So total meltdown and as you can see they barely found any eggs.
And here is yesterday's egg hunt in our backyard. I hid 40 eggs so they for sure would each fill their baskets. No crying here.

These buckets are so awesome! The fox is killing me. My mom used to do the same thing with the double Easter egg hunts - other kids are jerks.

I LOVE the buckets!! The tree and the owl are my favorites :) A racoon would be cute . . . I'm just saying . . .
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw Ava's picture!!

Awwwesome buckets!!! I'm lovin' the owl and I wanna see the mushroom one when you make it! That'll be uber cool!

Poor Ava... good thing you had another egg hunt. I agree with Kristin. Some kids can be ruthless.

These are all SO SO CUTE!I think you did a better job than the originals! I can't wait to see the racoon. I may have to make some for Micah's room!! You should do patterns for the designs you made/make up!

That stinks about the first easter egg hunt! Glad the second one went better. I can't believe how grown up your girls look.

Mary,
I am proud of my ability to take someone’s work and recreate it. I admitted to copying your owl and fox, which I credited you with and provided a link to your etsy shop. I am not selling the owl or fox I made; they are for my personal use. Your design inspired my design of the frog and stump, which I posted pictures of. If you are familiar with my blog you would notice that I am not a seller and there are no advertisements on it. Thank you for the inspiration.

I am confused...so if I see a dress at a store that I like, I think I can make it, I make it, and wear it...I am infringing on a copyright? I don't believe this. You LOOKED AT A PICTURE and then made something for yourself. You didn't even say it was your own idea. Did the creator of the originals not see a fabric bucket anywhere else in HER life? You created your own pattern by looking at a picture and then changed the pattern to suit your needs. This is not infringement. JennyBean
