Assignment #3

Here's assignment #3 from my photography workshop.

The instructor gives you a list of 10 things, you write them down on individual pieces of paper and put them in a bowl. Blindly pick 3 and incorporate all 3 things into one picture. I wanted to cheat after I got the 3 below (specifically handwriting) but I know I'll never get anywhere if I don't push myself.

morning time

handwriting

belly laugh

My original idea was to have Emily "write" with her finger, her name in the sky and I'd capture her swirling her hand. And her laughing... Someone didn't really understand what I meant and kept "writing" like that kid from the Shining when he uses his finger to say Red Rum. She was just using part of her finger and no arm and no swirls! So this was idea #2. She can spell her name but every time she writes it, it's different. This time is was in a square. Sometimes it's some letters out of order, some not. Or all over the page: a Y here, an E there...

So anyway, I have no crafting stuff because I've been doing embroidery and I don't want to show that till it's done. I've also been (gasp!) spending time with my family:) Oh! And I put up my Christmas decorations already! I just get so excited about it and every year it gets earlier and earlier that i put it all up. If you're the spokes person for Thanksgiving, all I have to say is, I can do what I want so there "thspppp"! FYI, that's me blowing a raspberry with air quotes. Inside joke. My sister will get it:)

I love the picture, and I think it's cute that she wrote her name like that. Hell, I can't believe she can write her name. She's scary smart, just like her mama =)

I want a post of Christmas decorations. I normally always have mine out by Thanksgiving, so you're not strange. This year I'm not doing any, cause I hated taking them down when I got back. I did buy a couple glittery poinsettias to make me feel better.

I really like the photo! Emily looks like she is having fun at this point too!

You can have christmas decor up all year long as far as I'm concerned! One day I'll decorate again....

The picture of Emily is darling. I really really love how she wrote her name. Beautiful composition how you put it all together. Jealous that you already have your x-mas deco out. I get excited to put them out but I am like Mary hate taking them down. :)

Love the picture! I usually get my stuff up a few days before Christmas (more for the kids than me) and then I have to make myself take it down some time around the middle of February! Rob's favorite poem by Ernest Hemmingway was "If my valentine you won't be, I'll hang myself on the Christmas tree." So see, I have Hemmingway to look up to! :)

That's funny how Emily writes her name all sorts of different ways.
This year, I decorated for each holiday pretty early anyway. That way they'll be up longer than just a few wks, and I won't have to bother with them. The Xmas tree you've been seeing in my house is up extra early since we celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas before I leave next week to see family stateside.
Can't wait to see what you did with yours!
