Mushroom Back Pack (pink/brown)

Another mushroom pack pack from the Melly and Me book, Kaleidoscope. This one is for Ava and it's out of the Close to My Heart line that I've now done 3 (?) other projects. I've almost finished sewing the binding on the argyle quilt and when I do I'll post pictures of it. It's gorgeous quilted. Looks so much better than when I first posted just the quilt top.

I couldn't get Ava to model it though.

Close up...and under the flap.

And I also made another traditional-looking mushroom pack pack for a friends daughter. It was a special order actually. I think I'm done with these for a while.

Jon has been off this week so I've not been getting much crafting done. I've been taking advantage of him being home and making him go out and do stuff. We went to Lego land Monday, Downtown Stuttgart on Wednesday and today we were going to go to the Pumpkin fest (see last years posts. #1, #2, #3) but it was too gloomy. We'll try again tomorrow. I worked Tuesday and Thursday so I've had time to do stuff only here and there.

I wanna be Sookie..

I MUST have this mug! Or one like it since it's $32. Someones birthday is coming up. But I'm not going to say who because I'm not one to talk:)
Here's some other True Blood inspired stuff found on etsy:
bracelet (I'd take off the mouth if it was mine)
very cute print

I ordered two of these up-cycled wine bottle glasses for my brother-in-law's birthday.
He fancies himself a bartender:)

We went to Lego land again. Ava is soooo not game for this kind of thing. She cried and screamed as we waited in line for the Atlantis attraction so Jon had to take her out of line and walk around with her. Well I guess she was so out of control that some German lady asked Jon if Ava was even his! That's mean!

A new addition to the Frankfurt display.
They did a lot of work on these Lego cities since we were here last.

Ava eating tomato's! And loving it.

So we are pretty sure she's not mine accept I distinctly remember birthing her. Maybe she was switched when they took her to the NICU.

Her ear is trying to get away from her.

Inside the Atlantis attraction.

I did sew this past weekend. I almost finished two more mushroom pack-packs. One for Ava and one for a friends daughter. That will be posted later this week.

Sew Something (Rag Quilt Letters)

(I also posted this over at the store blog)

Super simple, super easy, fabric letters. Make a child's name, or a Merry Christmas banner.

These are on the wall above the hall sale fabric.

Made with quilters cotton and cotton batting.
Sewn then cut, clipped and laundered to get the rumply frayed look.

I just ordered this plate for someone who turned 2 last week. Isn't this a cool idea?? I think it still wouldn't entice Emily to eat veggies:)

Oliver + S Pj's & Lichtenstein Castle

Pj's made from Oliver + S pattern, Bedtime Story Pj's . They are a size 5 and HUGE on Emily. About two sizes too big for her. That's OK, they can sit on display in the store longer.

We went to Lichtenstein Castle (about an hour away from us) this past Saturday. Not the country Lichtenstein but the castle in southern Germany.

This photo above looks like I had work done on my eyes. I didn't! It's shadows.

The entrance.

Here's what the castle looks like (from a 2004 visit) without being photo shopped:)

Working on...and Costume fun

This is what I'm working on.. a sneak peak. I have half of it done.

I saved this to my computer because it's such a neat idea! It's from girlwithmoxy on flickr. It's on her back porch, pointing the way to loved ones who live far away.

I have collected pictures of costume ideas over the years.
Here is one from a favorite movie of Jon's. Teen Wolf.

I'm assuming this is a female Gnome.

I could not remember her name so I typed in "British singer with ratty hair" and Amy Winhouse popped up! How funny is that? Poor poor girl.
**
Soon I will be starting my Halloween Costume. I have the pattern, I'm just waiting on the fabric. And then I need to gather Jon's outift.
**
All the costume photos were saved without the owners info so I can't credit these people. I'm really bad about that mostly because I'm in a hurry to save and don't want to take the time to remember the persons name when I'm saving.
